NDT according to ISO 9712 – approval under PED 2014/68/EU

Requirements for approval program (certification program) are not specified in directive 2014/68/EU. Therefore, approval program is based on recommendation of document CEN/TR 15589:2017. This technical Report (TR) provides methodology for NDT personnel approval according to directive 2014/68/EU, Annex 1, article 3.1.3. Terms and definition used in this approval program follow EN ISO 9712 and TNI CEN/TR 15589.
The approval program is applied in conjunction with the certification program listed in Appendix No. 7c of the PJ COP (certification according to EN ISO 9712) and the COP S 9.18 directive. Unless otherwise stated, the provisions of the certification program defined by PJ COP Annex 7c apply.
This approval program does not use the provisions of rule F-13 defined by the Compendium of Technical Harmonization of the ÚNMZ. Procedure "A" defined in TNI CEN/TR 15589 is used for approval purposes. Procedures "B" and "C" are not used by COP. The applicant can be approved if he holds a valid certificate according to EN ISO 9712 issued by COP NDT TÜV NORD Czech, s.r.o. in one of the following methods/techniques and in the product or industrial sector.

For the purposes of approval according to PED 2014/68/EU, the applicant must be qualified for at least one of the following product or industrial sectors

A person who holds a certificate according to EN ISO 9712 in one of the above-mentioned methods and sectors, issued by COP TÜV NORD Czech, s.r.o. it is deemed approved, without further action.
The validity of the approval is tied to the validity of the certification according to EN ISO 9712.
An applicant seeking to extend approval in levels 1, 2 and 3 (after 5 years) in the relevant industrial or product sector must meet the requirements of EN ISO 9712 (Annex No. 7 c PJ COP) for extending certification.
An applicant seeking to renew approval in level 1 and 2 (after 10 years) must receive min. in the practical part of the exam. 1 sample relevant to the weld sector (w). The candidate in level 2 must develop a written instruction relevant to the weld sector (w).
An applicant seeking to extend approval in level 3 (after 10 years) must receive a written exam within the scope of the requirements of EN ISO 9712 (Annex No. 7 c PJ COP) or use a structured credit system. For the recognition of ongoing practical competence to conduct examinations, the applicant must provide evidence of activities relevant in the sectors.
